toasty thursday

Lang Arts - Study for spelling test. Reminder one of your Shiloh judgments to be handed in for tomorrow.

Math - Complete P 73 -76 of your yellow sheet booklet for Monday. As well complete #1-6 on P134 and 135 for Monday. Students will have two class periods to work on these assignments.

Social Studies - Groups should well on their way to preparing their presentations for next week. Last I heard the Mikee Sports Corporation was coming next Thursday to review the presentations.

Lang Arts - Spelling Unit 8 complete Exploring Patterns 2 and 3 for tomorrow. Study for your test on Friday.

One Shiloh judgment should be completed to be handed in for Friday.

Math - You may have to struggle a bit but please try to complete the "Estimate and Solve"#1-4 on P. 133 and 134.

Social - Continuing to work on projects.

terrific tuesday

Language Arts - Students are to have completed a rough draft of their judgment decisions for class tomorrow. Please look over what they have written. They should look at the rubric I provided to check to see how their work matches with what is expected. I'm aiming for the end of the week to have both judgments finished and handed in to me for grading.
Math - Students are to complete page 72 in their worksheet package for tomorrow's class.


Social Studies - we worked on our defining our roles in the projects and presentations in class today. You are to email be Friday with your answer to the questions. See yesterdays blog entry.

** Class pictures went home today.

** Toy drive and sock drive have begun.

** Friday is our first advent celebration.

Math - Students are to complete tot he end of page 70 for class tomorrow.

Language Arts - we worked on our paragraphs judging the characters in our novel. Students should be almost finished rough drafts when we begin class tomorrow.

Social Studies- Work continues on our regional projects.

By Friday each student is to email me with answers two two questions:

1. How do you plan to present your information on your region to the Mikee!! Sports Corporation?
2. What is your specific role and responsibility in preparing and presenting the information.

Language Arts - I'd like students to write a short reflection on the Video Conference experience for Monday.

Math - Yesterday's assignment was to complete "On Your Own" and "Practice Your Skills" on page 127 for Monday.

wild wednesday

Language Arts students are working on an assignment where they must judge the guilt or innocence of of two different characters in the novel "Shiloh"

Math - please complete for tomorrow only the "On Your Own" questions on 131 (numbers 1-4)

Tomorrow is "Scrub Day" so wear your grungiest, tattered clothes to school. Have fun!

Tomorrow is our monthly assembly as well as library day so all books need to be returned for renewal.

Friday our students get to join a live video conference with students from different schools in Canada connecting with students in Afghanistan. It should be very interesting.

Last day for December Arrow Book Orders.

Lang Arts- Students have one question in spelling on page 32 of their text to complete for tomorrow.

Math - Students have to complete at least 5 different lunches for less than $7.50 for class tomorrow. see page 128

Reminders - Library day tomorrow. Please bring your books from home.

Grade 5 at Mass tomorrow. The class will be attending weekly Mass tomorrow during the first period.

Spelling Test on Unit 7 for Friday. Practice 5 minutes each night.

Math -
We worked on "On your Own" on P.125 but didn't get finished. For homework tonight please do the Practice Your Skills at the bottom of P.125.

Wednesday Nov.8

Lang Arts - Students are working on a timely challenge and may ask for your help. They are designing a new animal cruelty law for Alberta.

Social Studies - Please complete "Worksheet #15" for class tomorrow.

Math - since a number of students did not have 91-92 complete today to make things more efficient and to reward students who had their work completed, class time was given to complete pages 91-95 inclusive. Students who chose not to have their work complete may have more to do tonight while those who finished their work last night will have little or no homework tonight.

Lang Arts - Students worked on Shiloh questions today and are planning to draw up new law for "Cruelty to Animals". They will be working in groups tomorrow to draw up their law.

Math - complete "Decimal Number Lines" P 90 - 92 in the worksheet booklet.

*** MS Read-a-thon envelopes need to be returned to school by Wednesday.
