Thursday Sept.28

** We had a wonderful opening mass this morning so we'll be going to the library tomorrow.
** Please have your library books in school for tomorrow.
** Remember the Terry Fox Run goes tomorrow so dress as your favorite hero and collect points for your family team. If you have pledge forms please turn them in tomorrow whether you have sponsors or not.

**There's still time to get your homework in parents as there are a few of you I haven't heard from yet. So please get me a few short paragraphs describing your child.


Social Studies - The word search of capitals and provinces should be completed for Monday if you haven't turned them in yet. Also the research Canada sheet should be almost finished by next week as we will be taking up the answers.

Math - Homework that was turned in on Monday was returned to the students today. They are to do their corrections in blue pen and have you look things over and sign the homework. This comes back in again on Tuesday October 3rd.

Monday, Sept. 25

Lang Arts - Please finish reading the first five chapters of the novel "Shiloh" for tomorrow.


Social Studies - We took up the border riddles for the other day and have begun work on Canada's capital cities.

Friday Sept.22

Language Arts - Students are to complete a journal entry about a time they had to make a difficult decision for Monday.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE PARENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THEIR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS. I'm finding many interesting things about your kids that I didn't know before.

I would still like to hear from you so if you could please take the time to write a letter to me describing your son or daughter I would appreciate it.

Thursday Sept. 21

Language Arts - students completed some marvelous acrostic poems which we will use to decorate our classroom. Tomorrow we will begin our novel study of the novel "Shiloh" and get our top 40 words of spelling idol completed.

Math - For Monday Sept. 25, please complete the worksheet pages 23, 24, 25, and 26.

Social - make sure you have completed the "Border Riddles" from class today.

Wednesday Sept. 20

Language Arts - Reminder to bring library books from home for tomorrow. Also make sure you have your acrostic poems completed for sharing and posting on the bulletin board for tomorrow.

Math - Complete questions 1-4 of "On Your Own" page 47 for class tomorrow. Don't forget the "My Journal" question.

The next science quiz will be postponed to Wednesday September 27.

Tuesday Sept. 19th

Language Arts 5 - Students worked hard on acrostic poems today. I hope you share some of them with your family tonight. They are due on Thursday. We moved the spelling idol to tomorrow.

Math 5 - Students are to complete the questions on "Visualizing Hundred Thousands" on page 48. 1-4 for tomorrow. They may do #5 if they wish.

Monday Sept.18

Language Arts- Spelling Idol is almost finished and we will be eliminating half the words by Wednesday and then we'll have top 40 words to work through. Students should be reading approximately 20 minutes per night of something of their choosing.

Math - Corrected homework form Friday and we're starting on activity 2 in the textbook. no assignment tonight.

Social Studies - students located the Canadian Provinces on a map and in teams on the smart board.

Thursday, September 14

Language Arts - Students have until next Thursday September 21st to complete at least five acrostic poems of their choosing. Reminder about paragraphs for Monday.

Math - For Monday the 18th please have completed the On Your Own and Practise Your skills on page 47 of your textbook.

Social Studies - In addition to map1 to be completed for tomorrow please have worksheet 2 done for class as well.

Wednesday Sept. 13

Language Arts - Students are to have completed their good copies of their paragraph on their mystery bug by Monday, Sept. 18th. Spelling IDOL round one goes on Friday. REMINDER !!!! Library day tomorrow. Students are to bring books back for renewal or return them for new ones.

Social Studies - Map 1 due for Friday.

Math - No homework this evening!

Science Quizzes

Just a reminder that there will be quizzes every Tuesday unless otherwise posted.
Study Glossary words, weekly experiments and or other work completed in class.

Thursday

Language Arts - Students are working on a new reality spelling show called Spelling Idol and will be getting ready to try and get their words into the next round of the top 40 words.

Math - Students are to complete the question on page 43 of their textbook and also to write a response to the journal prompt after the question. This should be completed for class on Monday.
