Thursday Update

This morning we had an opening Mass at which the students were very well behaved.

I've challenged the students to figure out a word puzzle that they have written in their agendas. You might find it fun to help them figure it out.

Thanks to all of you who have sent your homework to me. It's been very helpful for me in getting to know your children.

Last night we held our annual meet and greet bar-b-que at the school and I have some information on grade five that will be going home tonight!

Language Arts - Students have a book review of a novel of their choice by September 27th. We will be going to the library tomorrow so please make sure they are reading regularly each night. (20-30 minutes)

Math - There is a booklet of pages that your child will need your help with at home that is due Monday. If you would initial the work I would appreciate your effort.

Arrow book orders are going home today and are due back on September 27th. Please make cheques payable to "Scholastic Book Services."

Hello,

This is the first post of the year for the class. I'm hoping you have received your homework assignment form your child and can get it back by next week. Please email me as it is a very effective way to communicate. If you're using the blog my email address is listed. A newsletter will be going home but I want to invite you to our welcome back bar-b-que on Wednesday September 12th.

Language Arts - choose 10 words from the first 4 chapters of The Capture, and define them. Illustrate them if possible.

Math - pages 100, 101

Upcoming Test

Make sure to study old quizzes, labs and glossary words for the upcoming electricity and magnetism test.

Friday

Language Arts - Complete the last Holes assignment for Monday. that is the last day I will accept it unless you email with a reason for an extension.

Also for Monday students are to complete poster on telephone etiquette and be able to give a reason for any rule they put on the poster.


Arrow Orders last call.

Language Arts - Students have one last assignment for "Holes" that we we will be completing tomorrow. I am requesting the Novels and their cornerstones books be returned to class tomorrow.

Social Studies - the assignment originally due on Wednesday will be moved to Thursday so we can have more class time to be sure the students understand the assignment.

We had a great PJ day today with lots of interesting sleepwear.
